Superkids & Junior Great Books
Superkids is our language arts curriculum. It is a fun, comprehensive program which includes all aspects of language arts: reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, & grammar. The second graders also get to enjoy Junior Great Books.
Foss Science
Foss Science is our science program. It is a very fun, hands-on, program that covers insects, rocks, and balance and motion.
Differentiated Curriculum
In order to meet the needs of all of your children, there are a large number of processes and programs in place. ELD, RSP, RTI, & Homework Club classes are held as needed. Expert Talks, Versa Tiles, Marcy Cook Logic Exercises, and Challenge Work allow fast finishers, GATE students, and students with particular passions to work at their own pace and to follow their interests.Students in the classroom are taught, for much of the day, in small groups to better meet their individual needs, which can range from remediation of skills to complex analysis of subject matter. Whole class instruction allows the entire class to share ideas and to learn to really listen to each other. VTS, Depth & Complexity, & Junior Great Books activities and questioning processes inspire higher order thinking processes for all of the students.
